Character Resume- er, Introduction

Vicente "Tzintli" Neron

Avenida de los Heroes, Suite 17238, Tenochtitlan, Aztlan. Matrix address: VTNeron@aztech.mat
----------

Awakened Vice President of Magical Industries expert in the field of integrating magical theory with cutting-edge business practices and products. Skilled in all phases of project life cycle, from initial feasibility analysis and conceptual design through implementation, conjuration, and integration. Effective at building diverse, cross-specialty, and 'non-conventional' operating units to address ongoing concerns and market pressures. Experienced at leading complicated strategic organizational change and managing 8- to 9-figure capital projects. Service-oriented with the ability to initiate and sustain profitable relationships with global competitors.

((To an executive eye, this segment could be better parsed as: "A Hermetic mage with a specialty of using magic in a corporate setting seeks employment. He's used to working with superiors who know nothing about magic, and will do all of the hard work himself as long as he's given the right resources. He makes use of Shadowrunners if needed, and knows how to use these 'unconventional' teams to defend the project. He's not only used to handling major projects that the entire company may end up relying on, but he's aware of potential problems with such projects and can handle them. Also, he's focused primarily on his company's best interests, and he's a fighter, able to compete even with other megacorporations and hold his own.))

Core Qualifications

-Operational and Strategic Magical Planning
-Magical Industry Operations
-Situation-based Local, Global, and Transdimensional Outsourcing Models
-Magitechnology Architecture and Integration
-Skills Gap Analysis and Performance Optimization
-Joint Venture Partnerships
-Multi-Site Operations
-Acquisitions, Due Diligence, Integration, and Divestitures
-Customer, Contractor, Vendor, and Supplier Relations Management
-Major Capital Enchantments
-Personal Magical Defenses

((Again, to the target audience, this list of qualifications says quite a bit more than at first glance. Vicente is a hermetic mage with a strong emphasis on conjuring spirits and elementals, and binding them to his will. He's also very talented at creating magical items and industrial machinery that integrates science with bound spirits. He, again, is used to working with Shadowrunners, and has a fair bit of talent with working on the darker side of megacorporation business. More than that, though, he's a team player who can lead entire groups of projects- essentially working as a leader and a problem solver, not just as a free agent. He also has enough magical talent that he can protect himself from assassination attempts, though with the understanding that he's not a warrior.))

Professional Experiences

-Chief Awakened Officer, Pyramid Operations (2069-present)
Promoted as part of a new management team, charged with turning around Aztechnology's non-optimal public perception in California Free State. Also encouraged to obtain new insights into the UCAS and NAN methods of magic, and forming effective countermeasures against shamanic spirit-magic. Holding full accountability for this responsibility, currently meeting operational goals despite relentless opposition from rival corporate interests. Survived assassination attempt from individuals thought to be associated with Renraku Computer Systems. Renraku executive team recalled after subsequent virus infestation delayed launch of new much-hyped Matrix software.

-Conjuration Liaison, Medicarro (2068-2069)

Sent to West Africa in an attempt to safeguard Aztechnology interests in an increasingly volatile West Africa. Under the cover of providing medical assistance to Aztechnology assets, investigated reports of rampant piracy and smuggling. Uncovered a French connection, along with uses of Aztechnology genetic strains being used to augment local extremist organizations. Survived assassination attempts from individuals thought to be associated with BrightEdge. Later discovered a secret Aztechnology project- the strains were allowed to be leaked in order to provide real-world testing. Unaffiliated Runners later destroyed smuggling ships and strains. Verbally reprimanded for loss of genetic information.

-Vice President of Magical Industry, Maritech Enterprises (2065-2068)
Promoted to Vice President, tasked with equipping Maritech Enterprises mining vehicles and submersibles with magical equipment. Pioneered the use of earth elementals to guide drill bits and seal off breaches to undersea facilities. Likewise oversaw upgrades and integration with magical industry functionality. Survived assassination and sabotage attempts from individuals thought to be associated with Mitsuhama Computer Technologies. Mitsuhama executive team rescued after their yacht was mysteriously sunk by unaffiliated Runners. Disagreements with corporate 'turn-around' specialists led to reassignment.

 -Operations Director, Productos Cultivatos (2064-2065)
Oversaw expansions of Cultivatos fields and succeeding in energizing worker base with new education and incentive programs. Survived assassination attempts from individuals thought to be associated with the Genesis Consortium. Later tendered his resignation, due to an unfortunate misunderstanding with the security officer, Ortiz. Was instead reassigned.

-Senior Magical Industry Manager, Tres Chic (2060-2064)
Breakout assignment. Oversaw transition of Tres Chic Cosmetics into new chemical lines, and expanding new product lines in genegineering and nanotechnological facial construction procedures. As manager of the magical industry side of things, he helped create new processes that expanded production capacity. Survived assassination attempts by individuals thought to be associated with Evo corporation. For the first time, unaffiliated Runners attacked Evo executives, resulting in several casualties and complete collapse of an elevated interstate highway. Prolonged disagreement with division heads led to reassignment.

-Earlier assignments include positions in Tres Chic Clothing, Televisa, and Aztechnology's Magical Industries division.

((As one might guess, such an official list omits several important points. Such as Vicente's use of 'unaffiliated' Runners, the infighting between himself and other executives, and nagging rumorss of unethical conjurations. Otherwise, however, the record is accurate.))

Psychological Profile

Like most other Aztechnology executives, possesses a keen intellect and a healthy ambition. He craves success and prominence, along with all of the status symbols that go with it. This sometimes results in ruthless behavior ((especially with the use of Runners)), but this is generally considered to be well within the bounds of expected behavior and the rigorous ethical standards of Aztechnology. If anything, his initiatives to increase teamwork and energize the work force sets him apart as a different kind of executive, trading off higher margins for increased stability. This often leads him to conflict with other executives.

Friendly towards most individuals, he does seem to take set-backs personally and to go after 'problem people' with singular focus. This often extends into the magical world as well, as he can treat bound spirits as allies or as near-slaves with equal skill.

Beneath the surface lies a basic insecurity. After the series of assassination attempts, Vicente has grown cautious- he enjoys life, but he takes far more precautions, and he's given up some of the things he used to enjoy, considering them too risky. He's given to a few superstitions as an extra means of security, but these relatively harmless rituals don't interfere with his talent as an executive. However, his drive to be seen as strong has led to him ignoring suggestions of making use of Aztechnology's corporate counseling programs. In future, the suggestions may need to become more pointed.

His strongest asset is his creative mind. While he is, as mages go, fairly mediocre- relying on the advances of others and a strong base in conjuration- his innovative solutions and talent for synthesizing new options gives him an edge. Likewise, with his relative lack of ego, he's a stronger team player than most of his competitors, enabling him to draw more out of his work teams and take advantage of their differing points of view. So long as he can balance this with his own drives to succeed and prosper, he should do well.

However, there are lingering concerns about Vicente. His lack of focus in the corporate world, his conflicts with others, and his inability to remain on the same job for more than a few years betrays a potential lack of self-satisfaction. It could be that, for all his success, he still finds himself incapable of fully enjoying what he has. If so, this is good news. Aztechnology can lead him along for many more profitable years simply by dangling the carrot of contentment in front of his nose.
